BVAL Best of the Best Sports Award

This award is presented anually to the school that demonstrates the strongest varsity athletic program for the year. The award is based on league play. The purpose of the prgram is to encourage schools to come together for a common goal and to promote interest

throughout the program.

Points are awarded based on a school's finish in each varsity program. For example, 1st place in Mt. Hamilton = 24, 2nd in MH = 23 ... 7th in West Valley = 2, 8th in WV = 1. Two (2) bonus points are awarded to the school that finishes in first place in each division; in the event of a tie, the bonus points are dividend among the tied schools. One (1) point is subtracted for each ejection a school receives; five (5) bonus points are awarded to those schools with zero (0) ejections. The school's total points are then divided by the number of sports offered by the school to determine the Best of the Best.
